Neurosocial Leadership
Leadership in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
Artificial intelligence is moving from tool to active participant. It prioritizes information, drafts proposals, prepares decisions and increasingly takes over entire workflows. In doing so, it changes more than processes. It changes roles, influence and collaboration.
What happens when the knowledge of an experienced leader is suddenly available everywhere? Who is responsible for the decision of an AI agent? And why does resistance so often grow where people risk losing control or significance?
Sebastian Morgner combines three decades of leadership experience with insights from psychology, neuroscience and strategic transformation. Through personal stories and concrete situations, he shows why AI makes good organizations better and mediocre ones worse.
The keynote offers a clear leadership model for hybrid teams: setting direction, reallocating work, clarifying responsibility and creating a social architecture in which people keep learning and stay effective. Because the more answers machines provide, the more we need leadership that knows which question matters.
Where leadership takes effect
Social dynamics decide whether strategy and technology take hold.
Organizations develop strategies, and they develop individual leaders. The social dynamics in between decide whether either one works. When AI redistributes roles, knowledge and influence, precisely these dynamics shift — the keynote makes them visible and shows where leadership comes in.
- LeadershipDo leaders credibly model what they expect of others?
- Results orientationIs work guided by measurable results and transparent priorities?
- Psychological safetyCan people admit mistakes and disagree without social penalty?
- Conflict behaviorAre tensions raised early and worked through constructively?
- OwnershipCan people rely on commitments?
- Problem solvingIs complexity handled with confidence — are experiments allowed?
- Power structuresAre decisions made where responsibility for execution lies?
- Sense of “we”Is there a shared vision of what people work together for?
Interactive elements
Participants anonymously assess how clear roles, responsibilities and ground rules for using AI already are in their organization. The results can be taken up directly during the talk.
Leaders consider the question:
Who gains and who loses influence if our AI transformation really works?
Participants examine a concrete task from their own leadership practice:
- What should disappear?
- What can AI take on?
- Where does human judgment remain indispensable?
- Who carries the responsibility?
Optional deep dive
The keynote can be followed by a World Café or a Leadership Lab. Across four fields of work, participants develop consequences for their own organization:
- Direction
- Division of work
- Responsibility
- Social dynamics
The results can be distilled into first leadership principles or concrete 30-day experiments.
