What Do We Do as Humans When AI Does the Work?
A positive vision for the world of work with AI
Artificial intelligence is changing not only how we work. It is changing how people gain experience, what contribution they make and where they find meaning.
AI researches, analyzes and writes. It makes preselections and increasingly takes over entire workflows. That promises enormous gains in productivity. At the same time, professional learning paths, human judgment and participation in society come under pressure.
Sebastian Morgner combines a personal experience with the hypotheses of the Zukunftsallianz Mensch & KI (Future Alliance for People and AI). He shows why new tools alone do not trigger transformation, why pure cost-cutting programs fall short, and which decisions companies and society have to make now.
The keynote does not sketch distant science fiction. It describes a possible world of work in which AI relieves people of unnecessary work and creates new room for learning, creativity and responsibility. Such a future will not emerge on its own, however. We have to shape it deliberately.
Interactive elements
A short online poll shows which tasks participants already delegate to AI and which human abilities they consider indispensable.
Participants consider the question:
Which task shaped me professionally, even though I wasn’t good at it at first?
In a brief exchange, participants develop first answers to the question:
What do we want to use the time and productivity gained through AI for?
Optional deep dive
The keynote can be followed by a World Café or a future workshop. Leaders work on questions such as:
- Which work should disappear from our organization in the future?
- Which human abilities must we protect and develop?
- Where should AI deliberately not decide?
- How do we want to use the productivity we gain?

Every keynote has a clear dramatic structure and is tailored to the specific occasion. In a preparatory conversation, Sebastian Morgner clarifies the starting situation, the audience and the organization’s key challenges. Depending on the occasion, industry-specific examples, strategic priorities or current questions facing the company are woven in.
On request, a short anonymous online survey of participants can be conducted beforehand. Its results are taken up live and turn the keynote into a shared assessment of where the organization stands.
